Mensah, Osei get Black Stars call

Ghana has confirmed that defender John Mensah will miss the 2010 African Cup of Nations in Angola as injury forces his withdrawal.

The unavailability of Mensah and the refusal of Getafe to release Derek Boateng has forced Black Stars coach Milovan Rajevac into handing out late call ups to Jonathan Mensah and Ransford Osei, both members of FIFA Under-20 World Cup winning team.

Ghana's Nations Cup campaign which kicks off on January 11 against Togo in Group B has been hampered with injuries to key players.

The final days leading to the tournament has witnessed two high-profile withdrawals with John Mensah and John Paintsil joining Stephen Appiah and Laryea Kingston, who were both out injured before the Black Stars squad was announced.
