Takoradi, Dec. 30, GNA - Mr Stephen Wilks Mensah, District Chief Executive (DCE) for SefwiWiawso, has called onthe people of Sefwi, to uniteandoffer constructive and meaningful suggestions to the assembly towards the total development of the area.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in Takoradi on Thursday, he said the assembly has drawn up development programmes to give greater part of the area a facelift and called on the electorate to support it, to achieve the plan.

He mentioned infrastructural facilities such as school buildings, provision of potable water in various selected communities and the offering of scholarships to needy and brilliant pupils and students.

Mr Mensah said these laudable plans cannot be executed without their support and urged them to bury their differences, which impedes the development of the area.

For the communities to better appreciate projects which would be sited in their areas, the DEC impressed on them to initiate their own projects, assuring of the assembly's support, adding that, this would prevent any blame of providing them with a project not readily needed.

Mr Mensah appealed to the people of Sefwi Wiawso to put behind them the unfortunate incidents that occurred during the burial of a chief, which claimed two lives a person being injured.

He asked them to turn a new leaf and enter the New Year with good intentions to sustain the relative peace of the area.
