Nkoranza (B/A), Dec, 29, GNA - The Reverend Father Andrews Addae, parish priest in charge of the Roman Catholic Church in Nkoranza, has urged Ghanaians to show love and affection to each other so that there would be peace and understanding for the development of the nation.

In a sermon at Saint Martin de Porres Church at Nkoranza on Christmas Day, he asked Ghanaians to respect one another "since God created mankind in the same way and in His own image".

Rev Fr Addae stressed that the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ signifies the love that God had for mankind, for in spite of the disobedience of Adam and Eve, which brought sin into the world, "He offered His only begotten Son to die for our sins.

"Such love is expected from all people, irrespective of race, tribe, status, qualification, sex or wealth, so that we can enjoy His blessings", he added.

The parish priest entreated married couples to learn from the shining example of Joseph and his wife, Mary and share ideas and views, so they could bring up responsible and God-fearing children, who must also respect their parents as well as the elderly.

He urged people occupying responsible positions to regard themselves as servants of God and place the welfare, needs and development of the people above their personal interests.

He later led the congregation in special prayer for President Mills, other members of government and all persons in responsible positions for the rapid development of the country.
