Accra, Dec. 25, GNA - President John Evans Atta Mills on Thursday swore-in Dr Oakley Nii Quaye Kumah, Member of Parliament for Krowor as Deputy Minister of Health.
He administered the Oaths of Office, Secrecy, Allegiance and Deputy Minister.
President Mills asked him to complement the efforts of Dr Benjamin Kumbuor, Minister of Health, to improve health care delivery in the country.
He expressed concern about the attitude of some Deputy Ministers who undermine and"flex their muscles" with their sector Ministers, and cautioned those involved in such attitudes to change for the better.
"Honesty, humility and team play are required to address the challenges in the health sector," President Mills said.
He commended Dr Kumah for his patience and service to the people, and expressed the hope that his appointment would be a launching pad for greater privileged services.
Dr Kumbuor said with humility and service, Dr Kumah should come on board to assist in addressing the numerous challenges facing the health sector.
