Kumasi, Dec 28, GNA - Members of the Senior Staff Association (SSA) of the Ashanti West Region of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has donated food and other items worth GH¢1,000 to the trainees of the Edwenase Rehabilitation Centre in Kumasi.

These included 10 mini bags of rice, four cartons of cream milk, four boxes of key bar soap, three boxes of tomato paste, two boxes of edible oil and toilet rolls.

Mr Alex Bohan, President of the Association, said the donation formed part of their social responsibility to the less privileged in society, especially during Christmas.

Mr Bohan commended the Management and staff of the Centre for the hard work and pledged the Association's continued support for the Centre.

Mr Modesto Ayiwoli, Manager of the Centre, expressed concern about the neglect of the Centre in terms of funding and equipment by successive governments.

This, he said, was preventing the Centre from admitting more disabled persons for skill training.

He thanked the Association for the donation and appealed to individuals and organizations to continue to support the Centre to enable it to provide the physically handicapped with employable skills.
