EUSBETT HOTEL Limited, the only 3-star hotel in the Brong-Ahafo Region, has received this year's silver award in the hospitality category at the just-ended 2nd Ghana Business and Financial Services Excellence Awards held in Accra.

The awards ceremony, which is organised under the auspices of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, is held annually to recognize the contributions and accomplishments of players in various industries during the year.

In a citation, the organisers stated: “The hotel, which was established in 1998 with less than 20 rooms, has fast established itself as one of the finest hotels in the country, growing from 16 to 92 bedrooms.”

“Eusbett Hotel is delightfully located in the serene and stress-free environment of Sunyani, the Brong-Ahafo Regional capital and offers all the comfort of a modern first class international hotel and conference centre,” the citation stated.

According to the organisers of the event, the plush hotel with over 80 workers and a team of experienced professionals, has carved a niche for its self with excellent customer service.

The hotel, which can boast of an excellent mix of facilities for both holiday and business clients, has five conference rooms, two restaurants, sports centre/gym, which is the largest and best equipped in Ghana, tourism information desk, travel and tour services, among others, making it the most preferred hospitality facility in the Brong-Ahafo Region.

“Eusbett Hotel has also been involved in a number of social responsibility activities to serve the needs of the physically challenged inmates of the Sunyani Social Welfare Centre.

“It has also built a 3-unit classroom block for the Ridge Experimental School at Sunyani,” it noted.

The General Manager of the Eusbett hotel, Robert Mensah, told CITY&BUSINESS GUIDE that high standards in the delivery of its services had earned the hotel several awards, including the CIMG Hospitality Facility of 2006, five times Hotel of the Year in the Brong Ahafo region and the Best Hotel of the Year 2007 in the Forest Zone, which was held by the Ghana Tourist Board.

He disclosed that the latest addition to their chain of excellence services is a conference centre to relieve the stress of event organizers and corporate bodies who want to hold conferences and workshops outside the stressful national capital, Accra.

This innovation, Mr. Mensah added, had greatly contributed to making Sunyani the hub of conferences in the country due to its serenity and stress-free environment.

The Director of the hotel, Sam Bennett, who also owes a number of businesses in the municipality, was recently honoured during the Brong Ahafo@50 awards ceremony for his outstanding contributions towards the development of the region.
