Ampem Darko apologises to Hon. Hammond
The Director-General of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, William Ampem-Darko, renders an unqualified apology to the MP for Adansi Asokwa in the Ashanti Region and the entire Parliament for his conduct on the 24th of March, 2009 which sought to undermine the dignity of the House.
In a statement, Mr. Ampem Darko said, “My pronouncements which rained verbal assault on the Honourable Member and the entire House were most inappropriate and regrettable.
I wish to indicate that I recognise and hold in the highest esteem the role of Members of Parliament in the discharge of the business of governance.
I am also of the firm conviction that even in the heat of extreme provocation, my conduct and indeed the conduct of any Ghanaian should not directly or indirectly infringe or obstruct any Honourable Member of the August House in the discharge of its noble mandate” unquote.
