Man convicted for breaking into a kiosk

Assin Foso, Dec. 17, GNA - Kwame Quaye, a trader from Assin Homaho, has been sentenced to a fine of GH¢240 for breaking into a kiosk, causing damage to the kiosk and stealing some groundnuts and items from the kiosk by Assin Foso Magistrate court.

The convict, who pleaded guilt to causing unlawful damage, entry and stealing will go to jail for three months in default.

The presiding magistrate, Mr. Joseph Blay ordered the convict to pay restitution of GH¢100 to the owner of the kiosk, Mr. Evans Nyantekyi Boateng.

Prosecuting Assistant Superintendent of Police S.O. Kwarteng-Addae told the court that on November 23, the convict was arrested when he broke into the kiosk and stole the items.

He also caused damage to the door of the kiosk
