MP presents books to UEW to enhance academic work

Winneba, Dec 9, GNA - Prof Samuel Kwadwo Amoako, the Member of Parliament of Akim Abuakwa North, donated 450 Psychology books to the University of Education, Winneba.

 
The books costing 11,500.00 Ghana Cedis include Psychopath, Adult Clinical Psychology, Child and Adolescent Therapy.

 
Presenting the books, Prof. Amoako said he solicited them from the Africa Kings Foundation, a non-governmental organisation based in New Jersey, United States.

 
He said while in the USA some years back he was promised by some friends including the NGO to donate some teaching and learning materials through him to some Ghanaian communities to support his political carrier in Ghana.

 
Prof. Amoako said since he became MP he had presented some books from those friends to the Central and Methodist universities.

 
He said similar presentation would be made to Kibi Training College and the University of Cape Coast (UCC) soon.

 
The Vice-chancellor of the UEW, Prof. Akwasi Asabere-Ameyaw, expressed his appreciation to Prof. Amoako and the donors.

 
He said the books had come at the right time to help improve teaching and learning at the University.

 
Prof. Asabere-Ameyaw appealed to Prof. Amoako to link the institution with other organisations and philanthropists to support them address problems facing the university.
