MP gives GH¢ 20,000 to support healthcare delivery in Asante-Mampong

December 08, 2009
Mampong (Ash), Dec. 8, GNA - Mr Francis Addai-Nimoh, Member of Parliament (MP) for Asante-Mampong, has given GH¢20,000 to the Municipal Health Directorate to support health care delivery in the area.

He also presented medical equipment valued at about GH¢4,000 to the Mampong Maternity Hospital.

Mr Addai-Nimoh said this was from his share of the MP's Common Fund.

He said he was confident that the money and equipment would significantly help to raise the quality of care for patients as well as teaching and learning at the Midwifery School.

The MP praised health professionals in the area for their hard work and encouraged them to remain dedicated and maintain the high level of professionalism.

Madam Rebecca Dokurugu, Municipal Health Director, welcomed the presentation as "a timely intervention," saying, it had come at a time when health facilities in the area were fast deteriorating.

She said part of the money would therefore be used to refurbish the Benim, Krobo and Asaam Health Centres and staff bungalows at the Midwifery School.

Madam Dokurugu thanked the MP and pledged to ensure the money was managed effectively and transparently.
