Edinaman School emerge Schools Hockey Champions

Cape Coast, Dec. 7, GNA - Edinaman Senior High School emerged the Central Region Schools and Colleges Hockey Champions in the finals of the Hockey League competition at the Schools and Colleges Park at Asisadel.
The Edinaman lads beat Saltpond Methodist High School 1-0 in the finals.
After a goalless first half, it was the Edinaman team that came back strongly to score the match winner in the 55th minute through Emmanuel Sagoe.
Aburaman Senior High School also beat Adisadel Senior High School 2-1 to take the third position.
Wesley Girls High School beat their Breman Asikuman counterparts 1-0 to become the Regional Champions in the Girls division while Holy Child School also beat Ghana National 2-1 to place third.
Mr Cocha A. Brew, the Regional Physical Education Organizer, commended the hockey champions for their excellent performance and advised the players to take their training seriously to win more laurels for their schools and Region at large.
He also appealed to corporate bodies to support hockey programmes so as to rekindle the sport across the country especially at the school level.
