Christians leaders should seek broader co-operation with chiefs-Evangelist

Accra, Dec. 6, GNA- Dr Lawrence Tetteh, a Ghanaian International Evangelist, based in the UK has tasked the Clergy to collaborate with traditional authorities to facilitate the spread of the gospel and the holistic development of society.

He said in order to ensure successful evangelisation mission in Ghana, there was the need for Christians to draw closer to chiefs and other traditional elders to be able to influence their mindset for Christ.

Dr Tetteh who made this known in an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Accra said during the biblical times kings, priests and prophets where governing together.

He said the Clergy must be symbols of honesty and upright behaviour to serve as role models in the society.

Dr Tetteh admonished traditional authorities in Ghana to seek fellowship with God to serve as agents of blessing to their communities.

"The Bible says that righteousness exalts a nation, therefore when a chief dedicates his or her land to God, doors begin to open," he said.

Dr Tetteh, also the President of Miracle Outreach Ministries lauded the Omanhene (Paramount Chief) of the Oguaa Traditional Area for collaborating with the Cape Coast Council of Churches to organise a crusade in the Municipality.

"The gesture of Osabarima Kwesi Atta II, who has publicly declared his love for God and prayed openly for a number of times, is going to serve as a great blessing to the people of Cape Coast.

"It was not an accident that the US President, Barack Obama chose to visit Cape Coast, during his maiden visit to Ghana.

"Osabarima's reign will lead to success and development," he stressed.

Dr Tetteh said his interaction with some prominent chiefs in Ghana including the Ga Mantse, King Tackie Tawiah III and Okyenhene, Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin revealed that they were ready to host Christian crusades in their traditional areas, which he noted was the hallmark of their leadership.
