Tema, Dec 5, GNA - Right Reverend Winfred Habel Yao Ametefe, Bishop of the Tema Diocese of the Methodist Church, has underscored the need for Christians to cater for the needy in society.

He said by so doing, God in turn, would not only let His angels take charge of Christians, but would also lead them to prosperity, by supplying their needs according to His riches.

Rt Rev Ametefe made the call at the closing session of a Pre-Christmas Crusade organised by the Tema Circuit of the Church in Tema on Friday.

The four-day Crusade, which had the theme "Jesus Is the Answer, What Is Your Problem?" was aimed at re-kindling and strengthening the faith of members, in order to be resolute and firm.

Bishop Ametefe urged Christians to make positive strides in the House of God, and assured them that like the palm tree whose branches were always green, God would, in His infinite love and mercy, let His angels take charge of them, and "Christians would continue to grow taller and taller."

Very Rev Thomas Forson, Superintendent Minister of the Tema Circuit of the Church, reminded Christians that since Christianity was about growth, they were duty-bound to take part in spiritual exercises like crusades to grow in the spirit.

He urged them to lead upright lives at all times and help transform society.

Very Rev Forson, who is also the Synod Clerk of the Tema Diocese, said the Church would strive to provide members with their spiritual, physical and mental needs.
