Adaklu-Have to enjoy pipe-borne water

Adaklu Have (V/R), Nov. 27, GNA - The World Mission Outreach Fellowship (WMOF) of the USA has almost completed the extension of pipe-borne water to Adaklu Have, a predominantly farming community in the Adaklu Anyigbe District.

The project was estimated to cost over 10,000 US dollars.

The community with a population of over 2,000 people currently depends on two boreholes, which dry up during the Harmattan.

Rev. Gideon Gogo, Ghana Mission Director of WMOF told the GNA on Wednesday that his organization has so far spent over 8,000 US Dollars on the project, which was nearing completion.

Rev. Gogo who commended the community for its communal spirit saying that what was left was the connection of pipelines by the Ghana Water Company.

He said WMOF was moved by the plight of teachers and pupils in the community, who have to walk long distances in search of water during the dry season, leading to the closure of schools in the community.

Rev. Gogo said his organization was also providing 120 orphans in the Kalakpa Line area of the Adaklu Anyigbe district with educational materials worth over 1,000 Ghana cedis.

"We must use part of what we have taken from our flocks to provide their social needs," he said

Mr. Simon Adama, an opinion leader of the town, commended WMOF for the gesture and said a levy of five Ghana cedis and three Ghana cedis were being paid by non-resident and resident citizens respectively, towards an electrification project.
