“I shall be father of all”, “there shall be no witch hunting and any political vendetta” were some of the utterances of our dear President during the inauguration ceremony. Is it that he has forgotten his own utterances ?, what has happened to the theme of change our dear president preached about?, the I care for you slogan adopted ,? is there really a change as proposed by the NDC when they were campaigning for power.? May be there is but I don't really see it. Before the last elections our dear president made a lot of promises both in his manifesto and on campaign platforms, what has happened to all the promises made?. Is it not our dear president who held a press conference only three months into the first term of former president Kuffour's government, proclaiming Ghanaians were facing a lot of hardships. Has our president forgotten so soon that the same way he criticised, he too will be criticised. He promised to reduce the prices of fuel drastically, better the lives of Ghanaians and put money in our pockets. We call on you and we are told we talk too much and that we should give you some time. Is it that you didn't know how it is like being in office or power? If I'm not wrong, our dear president was once the vice president of this country in the erstwhile NDC government between 1997 and 2001, and also head of the economic team. Now fuel prices are on the hike and prices of goods and services are drastically on the increase, for example, the price of the small sized african queen mackerel was 80 ghana pesewas as at january but it cost one cedi and sixty pesewas now. What has happened to the deregulation of the fuel sector our dear President spoke against when in opposition?
According to Martin Luther King Jr, the ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands in times of challenge and controversy. To this, Gordon Brown, British prime minister adds; leadership is tested not by what happens in the best of time but by what happens when things are difficult.
The little I know about being given a leadership role is to help solve problems not to tell us our problems. Ghanaians know very well that there are a number of problems and you gave the assurance of solving them, that was why you were given the mandate. You claim the economy was broke when you inherited it from the erstwhile president Kuffours administration (NPP) and there was no money in the coffers to run the country. If I may ask where did all the money for the travelling to neighboring countries come from? I leave it to you to answer. According to B.R. Hayden, the first proof of a man's incapacity to achieve is his endeavouring to fix the stigma of failure on others.
A lot of people in the erstwhile administration have been sacked or being asked to proceed on leave for others to take over their positions, is it that you are not a father to them or are they not ghanaians? During the transition period the interim interior Minister sacked the NADMO boss and filled the gap with someone of his choice, was our dear president not around or he just refused to care.
What has happened to the once humble and Godfearing president? We complain about our hardships and we are told to go and watch Ghana @50 enquriy on GTV. If I may ask , will watching Ghana @50 enquriy on GTV solve our problems or reduce our hardships? People say our president has changed since assuming office, is it true?
The committees are becoming too much, please mr president, the poor cocoa farmer is crying of hunger and a lot of hardship, please don't turn a deaf ear to the poor Ghanaian. The price of cocoa was more than a hundred dollar in the former administration but now I hear its price has been increased but it is less than a hundred dollar. Please let us see the theme of change you preached about and the better ghana you promised. Is it true that you are a father of few as against the father of all you promised?
Employment in the public service has being ceased for two years as a requirement for a loan package from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), except those in the health and education sectors, where is the i care for you spirit?
On the presidents tour to the Tema Oil Refinery(TOR), he made a remark that if the previous government had looked into their problems they would not be telling him about them. Please mr president help fix the economy you claim is broke and better the lives of Ghanaians. Former president Jerry John Rawlings criticised this government by saying its being run by mediocre ministers and that things were moving so slow like the pace of a tortise but nothing was really done but when Dr Ekow Spio Gabrah also criticised by saying team B has been fielded leaving team A on the bench allowing the reserves to play while the Messis and Ronaldos warm the bench, he was castigated from all angles by members of our dear presidents government with our president not saying a word. Is it true that he has really changed?
The mandate is only a four year term, mr president Ghanaians are waiting patiently for 2012. As said by the french dramatist and writer and I quote “only the mediocre are always at their best”. As the old adage goes cba nyansafoc yebu no be na ye nka n'asem.
Ghanaians do not forget easily, mr president handle ghanaians with care because there is a saying that those you meet up when climbing a tree are those same people you meet when descending
to be continued.

Hi Rich, this is a perfect piece of writing !!! Even the recent pronouncement by the President, that his appointees should "create spaces" for NDC folks is very unfortunate and disheartening !!!
