Mayor of Accra leaves for Amsterdam

Accra, Nov. 23, GNA - The Mayor of Accra, Dr Alfred Vanderpuye, on Monday left Accra for Amsterdam at the invitation of the Mayor of Amsterdam, Mr Joe Cohen.
The visit is to review a Memorandum of Understanding signed by the two sister cities in the area of ally pawing, computers to support rural schools and the renovation of Usher Fort into a youth and business centre.
The meeting would also create an opportunity to identify other projects that can be supported.
The MOU also supports the project management office of the city of Amsterdam and Ca Mashie (Accra) redevelopment Agency of the AMA.
It would exchange experiences and knowledge in the field of street naming and house numbering, HIV/AIDS, study visit and other areas of mutual interest that might arise during the term of the agreement.
The agreement would be jointly evaluated every November by International Relations Department of the Mayor of Amsterdam and the Metro Planning Coordinating Unit of AMA.
