Kofi Asmah exposes Adade Farms

By The Ghanaian Journal

…over alleged demolition at Kasoa
Renowned estate developer and Chief Executive Officer of 21st Century Constructed Limited ( Millennium City Project), Mr Kofi Asmah, has brushed aside claims that his company is demolishing legal structures around the Kasoa area.

According to the tough-talking entrepreneur, his company has never demolished or pulled down any structure outside the jurisdiction of the 21st Century Construction Limited, adding that those making the wild allegations are only trying to tarnish his hard-won reputation.

Mr Asmah was reacting to comments made by Mr John Kwadwo Bobie, owner of Adade Farms, to the effect that the former's company has encroached upon his land and is demolishing the structures on site.

Mr Bobie had told journalists that the land in question is a subject of litigation in court and therefore their action is in contempt of court.

But, reacting to the story yesterday at his office, Mr Asmah said that his company is complying with plans approved by the Town and Country Planning to develop its multi-million dollar Millennium City Project and that it reserves the right to eject squatters and encroachers, who do not have permits to develop the land and whose buildings do not conform to the standards of the company.

According to him, his company has only pulled down fence walls illegally put up on his land by encroachers.

He stated that the owner of Adade Farms, with the support of a former IGP, has managed to encroach upon 45 plots belonging to his company, adding that he will not allow this alleged attempt to steal some of his property to succeed.

Mr Asmah said he has even shown some magnanimity towards Adade farms in the sense that he (Asmah) has allowed developers, who were deceived into thinking that they were buying their plots from the right owner, to fully complete their house.

“I have allowed civil servants who had fallen for Adade Farms' trickery, particularly staff of WAEC, who had reached advanced stage of their buildings to complete them because I really care and respect civil servants,” stressed Mr Asmah.

According to him, it is a known fact that the entire stretch of land, on which the Millennium city project is taking place, is registered in the name of 21st Century Construction Limited at the Lands Commission adding that, those who care to know can verify for themselves.

“Those who think me or my company is going contrary to the law, could proceed to the Law Court ,” he charged.

In another development, Mr Asmah has denied ever using his perceived influence within the NDC to terrorise residents who are alleged to be encroaching upon his land.

According to Mr Asmah, who admitted that he is a sympathizer of the NDC, his political affiliation must be divorced from his private and business life.

“Should I allow people to steal my property just because I'm an NDC person? They should not draw Professor Mills and the NDC into this matter. I'm strictly following the law,” Mr Asmah charged.
