Residents of Ledzokuku express mixed feelings on budget
Residents in the Ledzokuku constituency have expressed mixed feelings about the 2010 budget presented to Parliament yesterday.
Some of the residents see it as a step in improving the country's economy.
An Accountant, Ludwig Osei lauded government's decision to continue to award cocoa farmers with bonuses.
He said this will motivate them to increase productivity.
He added that it will also encourage the youth to go into agricultural businesses, thereby cutting down on the unemployment rate.
A parent, Madam Mercy Odai was also happy about the government's plan of providing free uniforms for school children. She said this will reduce the financial burden on parents.
A Legal Practitioner at Nungua, Israel Mensah said the budget will stabilize inflation.
He urged Ghanaians particularly the youth to go into agriculture to help sustain the economy.
A former Member of Parliament for Kpone Katanmanso, Reverend Beatrice Naa Ashong also expressed hope in the 2010 budget saying, the government's intervention to provide permanent educational infrastructure for pupils and teachers studying under trees in most rural areas in the country, is a worthy investment.
