ARS Church holds first Delegates Conference… To rejuvenate activities of the church
The Apostles Revelation Society (ARS) Church is taking steps to revive activities in the church, which have become dormant over the past ten years, due to the leadership problem confronting it, as it was important to adopt strategies that will bring life back in the church.
As a result, the church held its first-ever Delegates' Conference after the death of the founder and leader, Mawufeame, C.K.N Wovenu, last Friday, at the church headquarters at Tadzewu in the Ketu-North District.
The conference, which was attended by over 1,000 delegates, made up of four delegates drawn from each of the 27 regions of the church in Ghana and Togo, to deliberate on vital issues that would project church programme and activities.
The General Conference nominated and approved of members of the Executive Committee of the Conference and the College of Apostles, as the highest decision making body of the church among others, to strengthen activities of the church.
Addressing the media after the Conference, the Administrator of the Church, the Rev. Apostle C. K. Atipoe, mentioned the selection and approval of the Draft Constitution Review Committee, nomination and ratification of an acting Presiding Apostle of the ARS, as well as consider the selection of suitable persons for the position of Trustees for the church, as other issues discussed by the conference.
He said for sometime now, some of the members of the ARS church were not all that active in the church, due to the inability of the church to organise programmes and activities that would rekindle their faith.
Apostle Atipoe noted that the activities embarked upon by members of the Conference, would help restore the ARS Church and rejuvenate the spiritual and physical needs of its members, noting that it was important to restructure the church.
He continued that the members of the Conference mandated the executive Committee of the Conference to select Trustees to replace the eight out of the nine deceased Trustees of the church, to help in reshaping the activities of the church.
Rev. Apostle Atipoe explained that members of Conference empowered the Apostles to select one of them for approval by Conference, to oversee activities of the conference for a transitional period, until the approval of the draft constitution of the church.
He revealed that the conference agreed to hold the 70th Anniversary of the church this year, and organised what he called spiritual cleansing activities like the holy anointment of members.
