Src Gamblers Of The University Of Ghana, Legon
I am violent if non-violence means we continue postponing the solution to our commonly solved problems.
Fellow Students,
We have all exhibited some level of zealousness in our chiefly endeavor to strengthen the legacy of the Students' Representative Council (SRC) bequeathed to us by our predecessors and our ambition to encourage mass participation of our JCR and SRC activities.
I had to cough out surprise during the last General Assembly (GA) meeting of the SRC held on Saturday, 16 October, 2009, upon hearing people whom I have opposed the Delong-led-administration with whenever the then Acting SRC President takes wrong decisions, today, advancing and endorsing those wrong decisions.
I have been of the opinion from level 100 up to this time around that it is only the students who wield the power to revolt against their leaders in the event their interest is not been advanced. This I have demonstrated with some students who have completed this university and will be ready to do same anytime and anywhere.
Nobody will give you justice; nobody will encourage you to participate in the JCR and SRC activities; nobody will give you equal footing in our current status quo. If you are a man or a woman, you take it!
TAKE IT FELLOW COLLEAGUES!
Evil will definitely continue to thrive if good men like you shall continue to be silent and fail to do something about your surroundings.
I engage in activism because I believe like anybody else that, the fabrics of honesty and integrity have been so abused and mangled that they are little more than threat bearing memory. What about you?
An old man can sit, an old lady can sit, even a fool can sit but you and I have sat long enough and it is about time we stood and fight to back it.
This is why our fight must be FIERCE; it must be URGENT; it must be NOW! It must be THE FIERCE URGENCY OF NOW!
