Pupils appeal to President Mills
Two pupils of the Asare Oppong School Complex, Rosemary Konotey and Samuel Assayaw who represented the Western Region at the 20th anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child at Dodowa near Accra have appealed to the President Mills to help deal with issues of female genital mutilation.
He should also extend the school feeding programme to all children in the country and also provide the free uniforms he promised those in deprived communities.
They also added that the government should involve children in discussing matters concerning educational reforms.
The two pupils, said the new information they acquired at the celebration include the fact that every child has the right to education, development and protection and that they should report perpetrators of violence against children to CHRAJ, DOVVSU and the police.
