AMA Boss tours Project Sites
The Mayor of Accra, Dr. Alfred Vanderpuye says the main agenda of his administration is to bring development to the door step of every Ghanaian in the Metropolis.
This he noted is the reason why the assembly is undertaking several environmental projects.
Dr. Vanderpuye disclosed this when he and other officials visited some project sites.
The team first visited an eight million Euro drainage project at the Chemu Lagoon. He said the lagoon will be drained and a foot bridge built it over to facilitate the movement of those living there.
Dr. Vanderpuye said all drains in the metropolis will be rehabilitated to help check flooding of the city during the raining season.
Some major construction projects inspected were a 2.5 kilometer road from Dansoman to Chorkor and the Tetteh Quashie-Apenkwa motorway extension.
He advised encroachers along the roads to vacate the place to facilitate the construction of the roads.
Dr. Vanderpuye said plans are underway to erect street and traffic lights in all sub metros.
He warned that from today all stray animals will be arrested and their owners prosecuted. This is to help bring about sanity and order in the city.
