Ghana committed to support Quality Education - Minister
The Minister of Education, Alex Tettey-Enyo, says the development of the youth as future leaders is very crucial, in the current fast and increasingly complex world in order to keep pace with new trends.
He said Ghana as a gateway to the West African sub-region is committed to provide and support quality education at all levels to facilitate the growth of the youth, Mr. Tettey-Enyo, said this in a speech read on his behalf at the inauguration of German Swiss International School in Accra.
The School which was established forty years ago, was formerly known as Ramseyer Memorial. It is a primary and junior high school facility, where the pupils are taught German, Swiss, and English.
Mr. Tettey-Enyo said the school would no doubt afford the pupils the opportunity to study in a bilingual environment with the view of gaining fluency and proficiency in languages. He said government is making efforts to provide quality education for all children in the country regardless of nationality, creed and background.
Mr. Tettey-Enyo commended the school authorities for realising the need to open its doors to other nationals and expressed the hope that the birth of the school would widen patronage for Ghanaian pupils to make it easy for the positive transformation of Ghana-German-Swiss relations.
The Swiss Ambassador to Ghana, Nicolas Lang, commended those who established the school for their determination, foresightedness and perseverance.
