Nsawam, Nov.5, GNA - Rose Anderson, an eleven year-old pupil of the Catholic Primary School at Nsawam, was killed on the spot when a vehicle ran over her near the Nsawam District Police station on Tuesday.
The Nsawam District Police Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Alex Wowolo, told the GNA that the girl was crossing the road at about 1750 hours from Djankrom to Ayigbe town at Nsawam to attend a Church programme when a 207 passenger bus traveling from Asamankese to Accra knocked and ran over her.
The body of the deceased had been deposited at the Nsawam Government Hospital mortuary pending autopsy
DSP Wowolo said the driver of the vehicle, Yaw Afoani, 28, has been arrested and is helping the police in their investigations.
Meanwhile the police had impounded the vehicle, with registration number GW 7156X.
