President Laurent Gbagbo arrives in Ghana

The Ivorian leader, Laurent Gbagbo, has arrived in Accra for a two-day official visit to the country. He was met on arrival by President John Evans Atta Mills.

Also at the airport were the Chief of Staff, Ministers of State, the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in Ghana, Members of the African Diplomatic Corps and a large entourage of Ivorian citizens in Ghana.

President Gbagbo took the National Salute and inspected the guard of honour mounted by three officers and 96 men drawn from the 48 engineer regiment with the Army Central Band on parade.

The Ivorian leader was given a 21 gun salute.  Whilst in Accra, the two leaders will hold bi-literal discussion, attend a state luncheon, visit the Kwame Nkrumah Museum and hold a durbar with the Ivorian citizens in Accra.
