Asantehene advices Anloga carpenters to improve quality of products

Kumasi, Oct. 29, GNA - Carpenters at Anloga in Kumasi have been asked to take advantage of ultra modern equipment provided at Sokoban Wood Village and improve upon their products, expand their business and become more competitive.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, gave the advice when members of the Anloga Carpenters Union paid a courtesy call on him at Manhyia Palace, Kumasi, on Wednesday.

He urged the members to allow students from technical institutions pursuing carpentry course to do practical training at their workshops.

Otumfup Osei Tutu expressed satisfaction that the carpenters had finally re-located at the Wood Village to pave way for the construction of the Oforikrom-Asokwa by-pass to ease traffic in the Kumasi Metropolis.

The Asantehene asked the carpenters to contact the Palace any time they would face challenges so that he could intervene if necessary.

Reverend Samuel Fugah, Leader of the Union, commended Otumfuo Osei Tutu for contributing to the growth of the Union.

The carpenters, who have been operating at Anloga for the past 67 years, told GNA that they were confident that their re-location would not affect patronage of their products.
