
The Brong-Ahafo Regional Minister, Kwadwo Nyamekye Marfo, has cautioned school children against drug abuse, promiscuous lifestyle, alcoholism and indiscipline since such an unchecked lifestyle could put their future in danger. He however challenged them to study hard to become responsible adults in the future.
The Regional Minister gave the caution when he feted school children in the region at the Residency in Sunyani.
The event forms part of activities marking the 50th anniversary celebration of the creation of the Brong-Ahafo Region.
The school children were drawn from all the twenty-two Districts and Municipal Assemblies in the Region.
Also in attendance were some teachers, DCEs and MCEs. Mr. Kwadwo Nyamekye Marfo also challenged the school children to see themselves as part of the region.
The Regional Minister urged parents to support the efforts of teachers in the upbringing of their children.
Touching on the development of the region since its creation, Mr. Nyamekye said a significant number of successes have been achieved in the areas of education, health, road and electricity.
