Construction of the Asongin-Pelungu road in the Nabdam Constituency will soon begin. This was disclosed by the Member of Parliament for Nabdam, Moses Asaga in an interview with Radio Ghana. Mr. Asaga said the project is in partial fulfillment of the 2008 campaign promises made to the chiefs and people of the area.
He disclosed that the contractors responsible for that portion of the road have began work and advised road users particularly vehicles plying the road to be aware of heavy equipment.
Mr. Asaga said all the necessary arrangements have been made with the Ministry of Roads and Highways to help tar the roads. Mr. Asaga hinted that in the next three weeks chippings from quarries and other materials for the construction of the road will be made available for the work. He called on the residents in surrounding areas to give their support and co-operation to the contractors working on the road to ensure the smooth take off and completion of the project.
Mr. Asaga expressed his preparedness to rehabilitate the Nangodi-Sakote road network which he said is one of his priorities. He appealed to the contractors to engage the youth in the Nabdam constituency in the course of their work.
