Doris Wins Write Away Contest

THE SEARCH for the most inspiring and thought provoking essay by pupils and students within the age bracket of 10 and 14 in Citi FM's Write Away Contest has ended with of AFA Cambridge in Ashiaman New Town being adjudged winner.

At a short ceremony held at Christ the King Hall in Accra, Ms. Marku Martey was handed the first prize; a week's educational trip to the Republic of South Africa. Emenyo Apaloo of Mary Mother of Good Counsel School came in second, while Prince Sedinam Atsu of Oxford Preparatory School in Cape Coast took the third position.

The two runners-up will join Ms. Marku Martey on an educational tour of Pretoria City's Palace of the Lost City; Valley of Waves at Sun City; the Evening Game Drive in the Pilanesberg National Park and Emperors Palace Queen of the Nile, all in South Africa.

The Write Away Contest is an annual essay competition open to students legally resident in Ghana between ages 10 and 14. This year's edition featured over 1000 essays from school children from the Central, Western, Eastern, Volta and Greater Accra Regions. The Write Away Competition is sponsored by SAM-WOODE Ltd. (Educational Publishers), Emirates Airline (Discover more), The Host (The destinations specialist).
