Stand In The Evil Day

Pastor William Finney Blay of Life Assemblies
Stand In The Evil Day

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand (Ephesians 6:13).

Right after the baptism of the Lord Jesus, He was led by the Spirit to the wilderness where He was tempted by the devil (Luke 4:1-12). Then the Bible says "And when the devil had ended all the temptation, lie departed from him for a season' (Luke 4:13). 1 want you to notice the words "for a season It means it wasn't over yet; the enemy went away to return at a later date. As Christians we need to realize that the enemy shows up like this from time to time, and that's what the Bible refers

to as the "evil day."
Satan can't be everywhere at the same time, he goes from place to place as he has opportunity. He's a defeated foe, but he's full of deceit. That's why the Bible admonishes that you give him no place so he doesn't take you unawares, and also tells you to "...take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand it) the evil day ....”

The evil day is when all hell seems to have broken loose against you; it's when the doctor unexpectedly announces there's trouble in your body! The evil day is when problems suddenly arise at your work-place or when your healthy child suddenly begins to convulse. This is why as Christians we're instructed to put on the whole armour of God, so that we may be able to stand in the evil the evil day. He didn't will not come, but that when it does, you'll be able to quell it by the shield of faith.

Don't wait until trouble strikes; keep your armour on! Remember you've already defeated satan and have overcome the world; you're already more than a conqueror

(Romans 8:37). Nothing is powerful enough to must stand firm against all strategies and tricks of the devil, for that's all he's got- tricks.

Dear Lord, thank you for showing me the way to deal the tricks decisively with and schemes of the enemy- I keep your word in mouth as a sword, and faith as my shield.

I've put on the whole armour of God, thus not only am I able to stand against all the wiles

and stratagems of the evil one, I Put him to flight whenever he shows up. Hallelujah.

Proverbs 24:10, 1 Peter 5-.8-9
