UBA launches new promo

United Bank for Africa (Ghana) Limited has launched an innovatively Mega Savings Promo dubbed the “UBA double triple savings promo for its customers”.

The promo which started on September 1 and ends on November 30, 2009 offers customers of the bank, a double interest on two months savings and triples the interest on three months savings with the bank.

The Double Triple Promo is designed to create excitement for the bank's products whilst stimulating customer interest in doing business with the bank and rewarding existing customers.

The promo is opened to customers and non-customers of the bank – Individual Savings Account holders including sole proprietors

For one to be eligible to enter the promo, New customer would have to open a Savings account with UBA and Deposit a minimum of GHC100 in the Double Triple Savings account Whiles Existing customers top up their accounts with a minimum GHC100 to participate in the promo.

However, Double or Triple interest will be paid only on the incremental deposit.

Additionally, customers would have to save funds for 60 or 90 days without any withdrawals.

The bank explains further that Existing balance before Promo will earn normal interest rate of 5%

The new savings will earn Double or Triple the normal interest if not touched for 60 or 90 days respectively.

The account will automatically be credited with the interest after the 60 or 90-day anniversary depending on the option chosen by the customer.

Meanwhile any withdrawal from the account during the Promo will result in the loss of the triple or double interest. The account will revert to a normal account earning 5% interest.

However if a customer reverts to the normal account but tops up beyond his closing balance as of September 1 he still qualifies to earn double or triple interest on his incremental deposit if there is no withdrawal for 60 or 90 days..

According to the Executive Director of UBA, Mr. Daniel Addo, the UBA Double Triple Savings Promo will help encourage a savings culture among UBA customers and the public.
