The Assistant General Manager of Marketing, GLICO Life, Emmanuel Edor, has urged Ghanaians to take up an insurance policy that will safeguard their future against financial difficulties, especially in times of death.

“As human beings, death is inevitable. It is therefore imperative that even as go about our duties, we remain conscious of this fact, and make the necessary financial plans that would cater for our loved ones when we are gone,” he noted.

He added, “Insurance is indeed a major financial tool for mitigating the risks and uncertainties we face in future.” Emmanuel Edor was speaking in Accra when his outfit made a GH¢40,000.00 cheque presentation to the leadership of Parliament, being death claim benefits to the late Hon. Edward Salia and Hon. Doris Seidu Asibi.

The cheque presentation was as a result of an insurance product under the GLICO Group Comprehensive Plan the two late Members of Parliament (MPs) took when alive.

Mr. Edor however assured all MPs, and its valued customers, that his outfit (GLICO Life) would always be there to promptly pay their claims “if an assured event occurs.”

The cheque was received by Hon. Ambrose P. Dery and Hon. Yieleh Chireh, who represented the Minority and Majority leadership of the House.

Hon. Ambrose P. Dery, in a short statement, thanked GLICO Life for their swift response in paying the death claim benefits of the two late MPs, which he believes would go a long way to help the members of the bereaved families.

He re-echoed the need for Ghanaians to make proper financial plans for their future by taking up an insurance policy.

Hon. Yieleh Chireh, on his part, also reiterated the need for Ghanaians to plan their future properly, by taking up an insurance policy. “Our lifestyles are changing. That is why we have to make provisions for our future,” he said.

He however assured GLICO Life that the House would transmit the contents of the cheques to the bereaved families.
