Nkwabeng (B/A), Sept. 1, GNA - Mr. Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum, Nkoranza South District Chief Executive, has appealed to Ghanaians to continue to support the government by playing their respective roles effectively towards national development.

Mr. Agyekum was addressing the chiefs and people of Nkwabeng and Nankuma at separate forums during his maiden visit to the communities.

"The development of the country is a shared responsibility," the DCE said, and advised the people not to allow partisan politics to divide them, but rather to unite to be able to initiate development programmes.

Mr. Agyekum said the district assembly intended to construct an ultra modern police station at Nkoranza and also to provide decent accommodation for the police personnel to enable them to work to the expectation of the people.

He added that the assembly would do its best to rehabilitate feeder roads in deplorable conditions, to facilitate the movements of the people and their farm produce.

Mr. Paul Opoku Nsowah, secretary of the Nkwabeng town council, complained about the poor nature of the road from Akumsa Domase through Nkwabeng to Brahoho, Akuma and Abotam and appealed to the assembly to re-habilitate it.

He appealed for a bungalow for nurses at the health centre and also the extension of electricity to newly developed places in the community.

At Nankuma, Mr. Mohammed Akaama, unit committee chairman, complained of lack of potable water in the area and appealed to the assembly to construct a borehole for the people.
