Rotary Clubs Give 32,000 Dollar Equipment to KATH

Kumasi , August 13, GNA - The Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi has been presented with assorted medical items valued at about 32,000 dollars to help improve the quality of health care delivery in the area.

These include hospital beds, mattresses, surgical and special care suites, paediatric crib suites, general medical supplies, community nursery suites, advanced pedi-care suites and examination suites.

They were donated by the Rotary Club of Kumasi East District and One-Onta District of the United States .

Mr. Prince Appiah Fei, President of the Kumasi East Rotary Club, said it was their contribution towards improving the quality of health delivery to the people.

He announced plans to set up a Paediatric Cardio Centre for KATH at the cost of 385,000 dollars. This, he said, would help serve the Northern Sector of Ghana and beyond.

Mrs. Patience Yeboah Ampong, Director of Nursing, KATH, thanked the donors for their kind gesture and promised to use the items for the intended purpose.

Rotary has over the years been engaged in humanitarian services by way of hunger prevention, health, and education promotion among others.

Mr. Simon Kafando, District Governor and Mr. Charles Amoako, immediate past President of the Kumasi East Rotary Club, were among Rotarians present at the ceremony.
