Cape Coast , Aug. 11, GNA - Isaac Ntiamoah, an 18-year-old unemployed, was on Monday sentenced to 10 years imprisonment in hard labour by a circuit court in Cape Coast for defiling a five-year-old kindergarten pupil at Assin Bosomadwe in the Central Region.

Ntiamoah, who pleaded guilty, blamed his action on the devil and pleaded for forgiveness and leniency.

The court also ordered him to compensate the family of the victim with G¢300 or in default the family should sue him or his family at the nearest district court for the money to be paid.

Prosecuting Chief Inspector Charles Anko told the court that on June 5, the victim in the company of her mother and brother were returning from their farm.

When they got to the main road the victim's mother told her and the elder brother to wait for her whiles she went back to the farm to harvest some palm fruits.

Ntiamoah, who was on his way to his farm, spotted the two and told the victim's brother to wait and took the girl to a nearby bush and sexually abused her after which he warned her not to inform her mother.

When the victim's mother returned she told her what Ntiamoah had done to her and led her to the scene of the act.

A report was made to the police and Ntiamoah was arrested.
