Nkoranza (B/A), Aug. 7, GNA – Residents at Nkoranza have
appealed to the Nkoranza South District Assembly to renovate public
toilet facilities in the area to make them decent to avoid outbreak of a
disease.
At a meeting with officials of the assembly's environmental health
division, the residents complained that where as some of facilities were
old, others' septic tanks leaked, which give bad smell in the communities.
Mr Moses Collins Appiah-Kubi, in charge of Nkoranza Lorry Station
Kumasi Ventilation Improvement Project commonly called KVIP (toilet
facility), said patronage had been poor and those who used the facilities
failed to pay citing the bad conditions.
He said the renovation of the facilities would enable the people to pay
the fees promptly without complaints of the bad odour.
Mr Appiah-Kubi appealed to residents to pay the fees for visiting the
facilities so as to raise some funds for renovation.
Mr Daniel Agyarko, Nkoranza District Environmental Health Division
Officer, assured the residents that the Assembly would work to address
the issue.
