Tema GJA executive sworn in

Tema, Aug. 5, GNA- The Tema Chapter of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) on Wednesday sworn into office a five-member executive.

They are Mr Godfred Blay Gibbah, of Ghanaian Times, Chairman;

Mr Dominic Hlordzi, of GBC Radio; Vice Chairman; Mrs Patricia Awuku-Darko, of GBC Radio, Treasurer; Ms Laudia Nunoo, of Ghana News Agency, Organizing Secretary; and Mrs Felicia McEwan-Anamoah, also of GBC Radio, an Executive Member.

They were all elected un-opposed, and Mr Michael Boadu, Tema Metropolitan Electoral Officer, therefore, declared them duly elected.

Mr Boadu confirmed the executives in accordance with the GJA constitution which stipulates that a nominee would be confirmed elected, if he or she was the only candidate who filed for the position at the close of nomination.

On behalf of the executives, its Chairman, Mr Gibbah, thanked members for the confidence reposed in them, while acknowledging the hard work of their predecessors.

He appealed to journalists in the Metropolis to be committed to the Association to uplift its image.

Mr Kwadwo Fordjour-Mensah, Tema Metropolitan Manager of the Ghana News Agency congratulated the executive for accepting to steer the affairs of the Association, and urged them to live up to expectation.
