100 students trained in vocational skills

Kumasi, Aug. 3, GNA – All Schools for Christ Ministry, a Christian Non Governmental Organization (NGO), has within the last decade assisted more than 100 students to acquire employable skills.

Reverend Festus Abbey, President of the NGO said the beneficiaries received training in batik, tie and dye as well as shoe-making.

Others were also trained in drama and music.

He was speaking at the opening session of a six-day camp meeting of the Ministry in Kumasi on Sunday.

The camp aimed at giving the participants the opportunity to share ideas and discuss issues bothering on the development of the youth.

Rev. Abbey entreated church leaders to focus on the mobilization of resources to support vocational skills training of their members

This way, they would be helping in the national drive to fight poverty and reduce unemployment.

He said during the meeting participants would be mentored by technocrats and successful businessmen to shape their lives for a better future.

He advised beneficiaries of the training programmes to distinguish themselves in society by maintaining high standards in the practice of their trade.
