Adenta, July 31, GNA - Ms Anna Bossman, Acting Commissioner of the Commission for Human Rights and Administration Justice (CHRAJ) has urged parents to give the education of their children the attention it deserves.
She said education, which is enshrined in Article 26 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, is a basic human right intended to eliminate discrimination found at all levels in society
Ms Bossman said this at the Fourth Speech and Prize-Giving Day of De Youngsters International School at Adenta.
Education, she said, enhanced the free flow of knowledge needed to equip people to match with the modern trend of life.
Mr. Kojo Adu–Asare, Member of Parliament (MP) for Adenta, promised to use his share of the MP's Common Fund to support education in Adenta.
He said as part of his agenda geared towards improving education in the municipality, he had instituted packages to motivate teachers.
Mrs Wendy De Youngster Bastiene, the Headmistress, said the School which was opened on September 14, 2004, with a student population of 99, 18 staff members and three departments, has after five years, been transformed into one of the finest ultra modern institutions of learning in the country.
