The Sefwiman Association in Accra has decided to liaise with other Sefwi Associations abroad to help equip health facilities in Sefwi and provide logistical support to accelerate development in the area. It has therefore appealed to the Members of Parliament from the area namely Christopher Addae-Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai, Paul Evans Aidoo for Wiawso,  Michael Coffie - Bia, Sampson Ahi – Juaboso and Herod Cobbinah-Akontombra to be pro-active in the affairs of the Association.

The Chairman of Sefwiman Association, Stephen Kwayie stated this at the inauguration and Fund Raising in Accra. He noted that the absence of a formidable association to protect and defend the interest of the indigenes of the area has led to negative reportage of events in the area.

Mr. Kwayie noted that the vast resources of the area, could better be tapped to serve the interest of the people, if there is a formidable association to champion that cause. He further urged the four Paramountcies in Sefwi namely, Anhwiaso, Chirano, Bekwai and Wiawso to collaborate and exchange ideas on how to develop the area.

The Chiefs should also make conscious efforts to settle all chieftaincy disputes to ensure accelerated development.

A Prominent indigene of the area, Kwasi Adu, charged mining companies in the area to live up to their social responsibilities.

A Retired Chief Superintendent of Police, Nana Amankwaa, who presided over the ceremony, asked Sefwis not to forget their roots and identify themselves with the aspirations of the people.
