Mr. Kufour, Where is the wolf?

Mr. Kufour, Where is the wolf?
24.07.2009 LISTEN

I blame the NDC PR for the statements Mr. Kufour made about the NDC harassing and maltreating him and his boys. After the NPP was humiliated out of power about seven months ago, I am still finding it very hard to tell who controls the affairs of the nation. President Mills has being enslaved with the slogan of “slow but sure”. It is time the Cathedral in the Osu Castle be pulled down. Iron sharpeneth iron! And if you are in Rome you ought to do what the Romans do.

The NPP propaganda machineries especially the newspapers have adopted Rawlings' strategy – “the best way to defend is to attack”, couple with their usual hanky-panky that booted them out of coverage area. These outfits of the NPP are involved in monumental intellectual dishonesty in every unfolding issues that the NPP dubiously soiled their hands with. They always despicably put themselves in the plaintiff position and the NDC automatically becomes the defendant.

The NDC which is full of better Christians, Muslims and pagans seem to be all right with this perilous nonsense. And I am cock sure that if this trend should persist for the next few months, the NDC will suffer great apathy from the masses within and without as a party that has come to pay back but not work. As a matter of fact, this buncombe and dodgy mannerism of the NPP is not only disgustingly obnoxious, but seriously besmirching the image of the NDC.

For instance, the NPP cowed and haunted innocent people with BNI for a long eight years. Yet, they could not tolerate just a day of BNI's haunting expedition. They summoned their members and told them not to respond to verbal invitation from the BNI. Ridiculously nonsense! If NPP was unable to change the modus operandi of the BNI in power, what makes them feel they can in their sad situation now! Are NPPs special Ghanaians than those they haunted with that same outfit?

Regrettably, some of the state-owned media under the watchful eye of the government are in the bandwagon of Solidarity Campaign for some government boys who showed arrogance and ostentation to melancholic grimace of most Ghanaians.

I never thought the miscreants of the NPP government who flagrantly and openly pocketed our monies will still be walking as free men as at now. And the most painful thing is that they still speak with force and audacity.

“...because the farm owner fails to accuse the thief, the thief has accused the farm owner of thievery”. The President must wake up from his slumber and he should not be detracted by the cacophonous noises, the system needs to be purged thoroughly and all those who managed the Kufour Dollar must be called to account for it. Not a dime should even be sympathized with anyone. Inasmuch I know, if President Mills is going to apply strictly the law of willfully causing financial loss to the state, then no one, not even a single person from the previous government will be exonerated.

The NPP ought to keep quit for the charitableness of the president. Crying snake-snake when there is none, is not a reasonable answer to how you (mis)manage our “susu” that we entrusted in your hands. Indeed, if you were a witch/wizard start going to church to confess your sins because you will surely be hunted. There is nothing morally reprehensible about dealing with heartless witches/wizards for “chopping” people's children and retarding their progress.

By the way, I will like to ask Mr. Kufour to point at the wolf he is talking about. Did he say that NDC did not come to power by coup? Did NPP come to power by coup? What is he then insinuating? Did I hear that the elections were closely contested? Mr. Kufour has forgotten so soon about the outrageous figures and unmathematical percentages from Suame, Nshayieso, Bantama inter alia. The issue of closely contested elections should be told to the marines and not the discerning Ghanaians.

I never expected Mr. Kufour to cry so early as a seven-month old man in opposition. Our elders say that “ni bia yi gne o ba, o bia ni gne o” literally translated as: If a child beats his father, his child will beat him. As a matter of fact, relating the ordeal Jerry John Rawlings has gone through in the hands of Kufour and his siblings will full every verse and chapter of the Old Testament.

I will give only one out of zillions of smacks Mr. Kufour and his boys dosed to Jerry that pierced through my heart and nearly almost left my heart gangrenous.

University for Development Studies metaphorically was built by Jerry John Rawlings with his bare hands and money. The university decided to award him with Doctorate for his vision and selflessness that gave birth to the only and lonely university of the North that has churned out heroes and heroines. The decision also acknowledged his political achievements that one way catapulted Ghana to the serenity enjoyed by all today.

On count down to this ceremonious and memorable day, there were hearsays about a “scattey” planned by Mr. Kufour and his siblings with the argument that Mr. Rawlings does not deserve it. I cannot finish this painful story. But I wish anyone had the opportunity to witness the humiliation and embarrassment Mr. Rawlings and his convoy went through in Tamale.

I do not think Mr. Kufour has spent eight or more hours with the BNI as Mr. Rawlings went through in his (Kufour) government. Is he crying for BNI to sympathise with him? That will not help! If the BNI needs him to help in any investigation, then he will surely be summoned.

No condition is permanent. Can Mr. Kufour explain to Ghanaians why he left Mr. Badwordson as his Information Minister when his mannerism was an affront to his portfolio? Because he was comfortable with the venoms that Mr. Badwordson dosed on Mr. Rawlings. Dr. Jerry John Rawlings by this Badwordson guy and his likes nearly almost made him a horror and a demon. Any bad and negative word was for the Jerry's.

The magnitude of ingratitude exhibited by the NPP to the Disciple of Democracy in Ghana was very souring. This was a man the whole world thought will never handover power PEACEFULLY as a gun-to-ballot government. The NPP did not recognise that generosity and could only describe him as a social unfortunate and someone who has lost touch with time.

Mr. Kufour should clean his tears for it is too early. The part 1 of the NDC's show is not any near the centre. Mr. Kufour should be ready to accept criticism on his governance. If you design an outrageous and senseless ex-gratia for yourself, we will talk about it. You can decide to brand it as maltreatment. And we are ever ready to drum about the unfolding rot about your boys in your led government.

The NDC must get their ass on gear. The NPP in opposition want to overpower the NDC. Are there not media houses in Ghana? Why did Mr. Kufour decide to lament their predicaments to a foreign media? Is Mr. Kufour fully aware that the foreign media has nothing good to write about Africa and for that matter Ghana? Strategically, Mr. Kufour wants his cry reach Obama who appreciated President Mills' governance. That is an aborted plan, you may try plan 2.

I do not blame the NPP for all these exotic hogwash but the NDC for the weak PR. NDC should be ready to pay dearly for this uncounteracted foxing by the NPP.

Please, do not misunderstand me. I am not saying that our ex-presidents should not be respected, but he can be criticized constructively for policies he implemented as a former headmaster. Disrespecting our ex-presidents will be an infringement on the saying that “A nation that does not honour her heroes and heroines is not worth dying for”

However, I admonish once again, the Cathedral in the Castle must be pulled down now!!!
