UDS Receives Support

PROGRAMME Support Unit of the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) has presented assorted books valued million of cedis to the University for Development Studies (UDS).

Mr Iddrisu Samawilu, co-ordinator of the programmme support unit who made the donation yesterday stated that it was meant to equip the university library with up-to-time books.

He explained that UDS was playing a critical role in the area of human resource development of the north in particular and the country as a whole.

Mr Samawilu said the gesture was to help the UDS to offer quality tertiary education to its students.

Hr noted that the UDS was not only imparting knowledge to students but assisting assemblies and other institutions in the north to meet their targets.

Mr Samawilu therefore advised students of the university to take advantage of the numerous assistance to achieve their academic ambition.

He revealed that the organisation has a lot of relevant books in their shelves and thereby entreated the students to visit their outfit to access current information.

Mr Ibrahim Kwabena Antwi, senior liberian of UDS who received the books on behalf of the university, commended the organisation for the donation.

He also pledged that authorities would use the books for the purpose of which they were donated.

Mr Antwi emphasised that the books would go a long way to improve the academic performance of the students.
