The Ministry of Water Resources Works and Housing in collaboration with other sponsors including United Nation and Children Education Fund (UNICEF) will organise a water and sanitation forum from October 6 to 8, 2009.

The first Ghana Water and Sanitation Forum will be on the theme: 'From Strategy to Reality: Priority Actions for Achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in Water and Sanitation.'
Mr Minta Aboagye, Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, said sub themes centring on water resources, water supply including rural and urban, and sanitation including hygiene promotion will feature on the agenda.
A national junior water prize competition will be held as part of activities marking the forum.  About 120 participants are expected.
Water and sanitation issues have been high in international circles due to the dwindling water resources of the world and it is important that Ghana is not left out in finding solutions to this important issue.
