Mpatuom Appeals For Expansion Of Electricity Project
The people of Mpatuom in the Amansie – West District have appealed to the government to expand the town's electrification project to cater for the more than 5,000 residents in the area.
The chief of the town, Nana Asamoah Tia II, who made the appeal at a meeting with assembly members, elders and unit committee members said that two culverts on the outskirts of the town needed immediate rehabilitation to avert perennial flooding in the area.
Another area of concern for the chief said was the deplorable state of the local Methodist Primary School which posed danger to both staff and pupils.
Nana Asamoah Tia expressed gratitude to Messrs E.K. Agyemang Mining Company Limited, operating in the area, for constructing a block of three classrooms, an office and store for the Junior High School and kindergarten for the town.
