Re: Procurement of two diesel multiple units

Our client has brought paragraph 7 of your article tilted: Procurement of two Diesel Multiple Units Prof. Ameyaw Ekumfi Dismisses allegations of lack of transparency in award of contract to Amandi Holdings, to our attention. The article was written by Stephen Odoi-Larbi appears on the middle page (page 9) of The Chronicle dated Monday, June 8th 2009.
The said paragraph states: “on why Angelique International Limited also failed in the tender process, Prof Akumfi said that Company also provided specifications which were far below the expectation of the Railways Company.”
We are instructed that this statement is factually incorrect, as Angelique International Limited never submitted a tender in respect of the procurement of Diesel Multiple Unites (DMUs) to the then Ministry of Harbours and Railways for Ghana.
We believe that this must have been an oversight and would be grateful if you could correct this erroneous impression created by your publication to our clients and Ghanaians. We trust that you will give it the same prominence and circulation as you did to the publication in question.
