Leaders urged to acknowledge God ... For divine intervention in their endeavours
PASTOR GEORGE Sarkodie Baafi, of the Mount Zion Baptist Church at Effiduase in the Ashanti Region, has admonished Christians in Ghana, especially those who hold public positions, to always look up to God in whatever they do.
”If we refuse as Christians to acknowledge God in our lives, he would eventually abandon us,” he said. Pastor Baafi gave this piece of advice at a thanksgiving service held last Sunday in honour of Mr. Kwadwo Adae, on his appointment as the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Sekyere East.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own instincts. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths,” he quoted from Proverbs 3:5-6 of the Holy Bible.
He made it clear to leaders and office holders that if they keep to this, God would not forsake them in whatever they do.
He enlightened them on how to acknowledge God, saying that to praise and show gratitude to Him, was a good step to the achievement of this goal, saying the benefit of this is the reception of divine knowledge, grace and directions from God.
The man of God advised the new Sekyere East DCE to make sure he maintains a good relationship with God, so that he would help him in the discharge of his duties, while making truth and faithfulness his virtues.
The Senior Pastor of the church, Mr. Joseph Affreh led the gathering to take an endorsement prayer for Mr. Addae, asking the Lord to protect and guide him, as well as strengthen him to keep the charge he had been given.
Mr. Adae said he would make sure he makes God the center of his life, so as to make the characteristics of a Christian reflect in his duty as DCE. The DCE, who is also a member of the church, pledged that he would rely on God in all his endeavours, and prayed for the guidance of the Supreme Being.
