Ghana's preparation to host this year's International Celebration of World Tourism Day in September, this year is on course.
Mr Jeff Hagan, Director of Research at the Ministry of Tourism and member of the National Planning Committee, said various sub-committees are working to ensure that the country put up a memorable event for participants.
He said with the focus of the world on Ghana, special activities have been planned to help enhance the country's image on the international tourism market. One of such activities, he said, is a photo competition which will be open to people of all ages around the world.
Photos submitted should reflect tourism's role as 'the vehicle that bridges cultures, intensifies understanding and fosters peace,' the Director said. He urged interested artists to search www.unto.org/wtd for more details.
According to Mr Hagan, the competition is ' an opportunity for people around the world to share their cultures and customs to capture how diversity enriches our lives and unites us.'
He urged artists in the country to embrace the challenge and show their wares to the world.
