GTTA scribe in Greece …For Olympic assignment

By Kofi Owusu Aduonum - Ghanaian Chronicle

The Secretary General of the Ghana Table Tennis Association, Mr Kwame Amponfi Jnr. has been nominated by the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) to represent Ghana at the 49th International Session for Young Participants of the International Olympic Academy in Athens, Greece from June 10 to 24.

Mr. Amponfi's nomination follows his expressive sports administrative performance demonstrated over the past few years at the National Sport Council. Though there are equally hardworking young sports administrators in Ghana, Amponfi Jnr's qualities could not pass without observation and caught the eyes of the Ghana Olympic Committee for the IOA program.

The Ghana Table Tennis Association expressed its gratitude to GOC for the confidence reposed in the versatile Secretary General and promisd that Mr. Amponfi would not let Ghana down at the Olympic Academy.

While in Athens, Mr. Amponfi would be privileged to be lectured on the Olympic Games as a celebration, the Pan-Hellenic Games in Ancient Greece as a celebration, Olympic Pedagogy, the humanistic Pierre De Coubertin, Olympic Education programmes in China and their post – Olympic implementation among other topics.

Mr. Amponfi is expected back in Ghana to coordinate the International Olympic Academy programme in Ghana on part-time basis through the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC).
