Millicom Ghana Limited, operators of Tigo Telecommunications Services, last Monday, presented GH¢10,000 to Kumasi Asante Kotoko as winning bonus following their lone goal victory over archrivals Accra Hearts of Oak, at the Ohene Djan Stadium, Accra, last Sunday.
Tigo, the headline sponsors of Kotoko, also gave out GH¢1,000 for the goal scored, which eventually became the match winner.
Mr. Rose Escobar, Head of Marketing of Millicom who presented the cheque at a short ceremony in Accra, told GNA Sports that the amount was meant to boost the morale of the playing body and also motivate them chalk success in the rest of their matches.
He congratulated the Interim Management Committee (IMC), the technical team and the playing body for the epoch making victory and that he was confident that Kotoko will be among the best four at the end of the season.
Rev. Osei Kofi, a member of the IMC who received the cheque on behalf of the Club expressed appreciation to the company for the gesture and assured that Kotoko will live up to expectation by bringing glory to their sponsors and the teeming supporters.
