Kotoko contracts Psychologist to help club’s fortunes

Kumasi, May 15, GNA - The Management of Kumasi Asante Kotoko F/C has contracted a UK-based Psychologist to help turn the fortunes of the Club for the better.

A source at the management said Patrick Ofori, the psychologist was contracted following the difficult times the Club is going through especially in recent times.

The source said the psychologist has been given the mandate to critically delve deep into the challenges confronting the players and officials of the Club and to give the necessary recommendations to ensure the way forward.

Information pieced together by GNA Sports in Kumasi indicates that Mr Ofori visited the training grounds of Kotoko at the Ridge Park in Kumasi on Thursday where he had preliminary deliberations with the playing body and technical team.

Confirming the agreement with Kotoko, Mr Ofori expressed delight that the management had found it necessary to engage his services, stressing that he hopes other stakeholders would give him the necessary support to enable him succeed with the job assigned him.

He told newsmen in Kumasi that undue pressure on the playing body by supporters and the fear of failure by the players had contributed substantially to the decline in performance of the Club

The Psychologist has therefore appealed to well-meaning supporters and followers to sympathise with the team in their quest to improve upon their performance.
